Orcish Words

Before developing the language any further, below is a list of all the words or sentences found in the game that either are known to be orcish or can at least be speculated to be orcish.

Orcish Syllables & Roots

Flosha: I have developed an (obviously incomplete) orcish wordbook and a certain logic, by which the orcish terms that we know make sense and from which I deduced various “roots” through which we can form additional words and simple sentences. Everything has been developed through the few words and fragments present in the game version(s) and documents.

All the translations or “meanings” and explanations of the words are by me with an exception of the few explanations that are already given in the game.

When he heard that we want to do it this way and to have an actual, more or less reasonable “language” for the orcs, Mike told me: “I would have wanted to do the same, if I would have had the time for it.”

As an additional note: The orcs do not know a past tense. There is only what is, what becomes and where it comes from, everything has a source, but it is never grasped as something “past” in the language; they have no concept of any kind of absolute, finite disappearance, as they consider everything to be there all the time and simultaneously to everything else, that ever was, even if it may not be visible anymore.

For now, the words and explanations are still presented in my original German. I may translate them later.

EXAMPLES OF ORCISH SENTENCES

With the help of “-ak” and “-ka” everything combined with it can be described as coming from that or going towards that, thus ak-ka-ka-ak, is a saying like “from to, to from…”

For instance: “Ur-Shak ak Varak-Ulor” would mean: Ur-Shak comes from the Bloodearth Clan. If you say: “Ur-Shak ka Varak-Ulor”, it would mean: Ur-Shak goes to the Bloodearth Clan.

ToDo: Add more examples for sentences and how to form them based on our system.
